OEM and Private-Label Display Lighting: What to Include in Your Brief

An OEM or private-label display lighting brief should separate the product specification from the requested custom work. Identify the reference model and explain which parts of the design, branding or packaging need to change. This gives the manufacturer a clear basis for reviewing scope, samples and production.

Define the starting point

If the enquiry starts from an existing exhibition arm light or lightbox module, provide its product link and selected configuration. For an ODM enquiry, include drawings or reference images, intended use and the required interfaces. Mark the features that must remain fixed and those open to review.

Keep the electrical and mechanical requirements together

A change to a housing, arm, mounting interface or lead can affect how the complete assembly is selected. Show the mating structure or component in the brief. Do not assume that a custom connector, lamp body and existing supply can be combined without confirming the complete configuration.

Specify the sample approval record

Agree which model, dimensions, colour option, interface and branding will be checked in the sample. Keep the approved specification and artwork with the order record. Where a sample contains provisional elements, identify them before approving production so the remaining changes are clear.

Discuss project minimums and schedule early

OEM, ODM and private-label enquiries are supported. Custom project quantity, development scope and timing are confirmed separately from regular wholesale supply. State your expected first order and any planned repeat quantities without treating an estimate as a committed purchase. For standard production the usual lead time is 12–18 days; custom work requires its own agreed schedule.
